Key features: Dysport is prescription only medicine which contains the active ingredient Clostridium botulinum type A toxin-haemagglutinin complex indicated for severe primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae, which does not respond to topical treatment with antiperspirants or antihidrotics. However, it is not licensed in the UK for aesthetic use, and as such the prescriber takes full responsibility for prescribing the medicine and for overseeing the patient’s care, monitoring, and any follow up treatment. Treatment areas: Underarms in the treatment of hyperhidrosis Mode of action: It relaxes and limits the movement of muscles around the injection site as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
