Lumigan is a prescription-only medicine indicated for the of reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in chronic open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension in adults (as monotherapy or as adjunctive therapy to beta-blockers).

If used for Hypotrichosis, please note this is an UNLICENSED product and as such the prescriber takes full responsibility for prescribing the medicine and for overseeing the patient’s care, monitoring, and any follow-up treatment. the practitioner must also inform the patient that the product is being used off licence.Â
Mode of action:
- The mechanism of action by which Bimatoprost reduces intraocular pressure in humans is by increasing aqueous humour outflow through the trabecular meshwork and enhancing uveoscleral outflow.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
- Lumigan is contraindicated in patients who have had a suspected previous adverse reaction to benzalkonium chloride that has led to discontinuation.
Special warnings and precautions for use:
- There is a potential for hair growth to occur in areas where Lumigan solution comes repeatedly in contact with the skin surface. Thus, it is important to apply Lumigan as instructed and avoid it running onto the cheek or other skin areas.
- Lumigan should not be used during pregnancy unless clearly necessary.
- Always patch test the product to test for allergies
